Local Moves

FREE ESTIMATE!

Local MoversWhen choosing a local mover, you should choose the company that you trust will provide you with the most accurate estimate and has the most time efficient and professional staff prepared to move you.

Our local moving consultants utilize their years of experience in order to provide you with an accurate written estimate to calculate the amount of time it will take to move you to your new home. Your written estimate will include the amount of time that will pass from the moment the moving truck leaves our location until it returns after your move is completed.  We will include known incidental costs such as road and bridge tolls if applicable.

If requested, when preparing your written estimate your moving consultant will include additional services such as packing or extra insurance.  In order to keep your final cost in line with your estimate please remember the below items may cause the final price to be higher than the original estimate:

  • Using additional supplies provided by the mover not included in the estimate
  • Packing items you advised your moving consultant you were going to have packed on moving day.
  • Changing the scope of the work that was originally discussed.  Such as items that a neighbor may have borrowed, deciding at the last minute to bring the items in the garage or basement that were originally not going to be moved.

When moving locally, timing is essential so it is in your best interest to know the best route to your new home and be familiar with the new neighborhood.  Recommending to the movers a quicker way to go can save you money on your final bill.

Local General Tips

  • Designate a point of contact on moving day as the movers may have questions that will require immediate answers.
  • Make sure to keep a contact phone number available so our movers and office staff can keep in contact with you throughout the move.
  • Know all logistical restrictions your movers may encounter, such as restricted moving times, building requirements for movers, etc.
  • On moving day clear the walkways to your home so the movers have a clear path to move your larger household items.
  • If the use of an elevator is necessary, make sure you have advised your movers ahead of time and if possible reserve the elevator for your move.  This may save you time and money because the movers won’t have to carry heavy furniture up stairs.
  • Make sure the movers will be able to locate suitable parking for the truck.  They will need to be able to comfortably load and unload your items. Double-parking means the truck has to round the corner every so often and additional charges will be added to your final bill if it wasn’t already anticipated.
